Desmond Manderson recognised with a Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal

Professor Desmond Manderson, of the Interdisciplinary Humanities Group, has been awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal by the Lieutenant Governor of Quebec. The objective of this medal is ‘to honour in a visible and tangible way, those who have contributed to build our society’ with Professor Manderson's receiving this honour in recognition of his service to the McGill University community. 

Professor Manderson held a senior Canada Research Chair in the Faculty of Law at McGill University for ten years and was foundation Director of the Institute for the Public Life of Arts and Ideas at the university.  He was elected a fellow of the Royal Society of Canada last year for his pioneering work on the interdisciplinary study of law and the humanities.  He is now ARC Future Fellow in the ANU College of Law and the Research School of Humanities and Arts, and has just inaugurated a new law and humanities network at ANU.
